Massage therapists: booking company wellness days online
How massage therapists can run chair massage and wellness days at companies with online booking: short slots for staff, a service per event and the organiser.
6 min read
Run company wellness days with short chair massage slots that staff book online: agree the date, hours and price with the organiser, create a service named after the event, open fifteen- or twenty-minute slots across the day, and send the booking link to the organiser to share internally. Staff choose a time that suits their meetings, you work through a full schedule without a queue at your chair, and the organiser doesn't have to build a timetable.
Agree the day with the organiser first
Start with a call to agree the date, the hours, the room, the number of staff and how the day is paid: a day rate paid by the company, or staff paying per slot. On Book, each service has a name, a price and an optional description shown on your public page, and each slot belongs to one service, sits within one day and has its own capacity. A short planning call can be its own service the organiser books.
| Service | Example slot | Places | Example price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Company wellness day, planning call | 20 min | 1 | Free |
| Chair massage, Acme office, 14 March | 15 min | 1 | Free |
| Chair massage, two therapists | 15 min | 2 | Free |
| Lunchtime stretch session for staff | 30 min | 10 | Free |
Lengths, places and prices are examples. When the company pays a day rate, leave the price empty on staff slots and invoice the company as agreed.
One service per event
Create a service named after the company and date, such as "Chair massage, Acme office, 14 March", and describe what staff should know: where the room is, what to wear, that the massage is over clothes, and how long it lasts. Open the slots for that date only. Your public page lists every open service, so the event name tells other visitors it's for that company's staff; share the link through the organiser.
Slots, breaks and two therapists
A fifteen-minute massage needs a couple of minutes to wipe the chair and greet the next person, so a slot every twenty minutes keeps you on time. Leave a lunch break and a short pause mid-afternoon. If two therapists work side by side, give each slot two places. When a slot is full, it leaves the page, so staff pick another time.
What staff are asked
The booking form takes first name, last name, email and phone, plus an optional note that reaches you in the new booking email and appears in the employee's calendar file. Ask in the note for anything you should avoid, such as a sore neck or a recent injury, and say in the description that people who are pregnant or have a condition should mention it at the start. Staff who enter an email receive a confirmation with a calendar file, so the slot sits in their work calendar.
On the day
Check the day's list in your bookings list before you leave. Arrive early to set up the chair, wipes, a playlist and a sign on the door with your schedule. If someone misses their slot, offer it to whoever is passing. Your bookings sync with Google, iPhone or Mac calendars.
Other formats
Besides chair massage, a company may ask for a lunchtime stretching or breathing session for a group. Offer it as a separate service with places, such as ten per session, and say what staff should wear and whether they need a mat. Mixing a group session in the morning and chair massage in the afternoon can reach more staff in one day.
Recurring wellness days
A company may want a wellness day each month or quarter. Agree the dates with the organiser, create the slots for each date and share the link again a week before. Each date can have its own service name, so staff always book the right day.
Changes
Staff can't move bookings online: they contact you or the organiser, and you move them to another slot from your bookings list and confirm it yourself, since Book doesn't email clients about changes. If the company moves the whole day, move each booking and send the organiser a note to share with staff. Book doesn't take payments, so invoice the company or say how staff pay. Book costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited services and bookings, no commission, no contract.
