Corporate shiatsu days: organising sessions at a company
Short seated sessions back to back, a room on site, employees booking their own time: how shiatsu practitioners can run a day at a company without chaos.
6 min read
A corporate shiatsu day works best as a series of short seated sessions, for example 15 to 20 minutes, with a few minutes between each person. Agree the date, the room and the number of sessions with your contact, then let employees book their own time: either through a dedicated service on your page with one place per slot, or through a list the company sends you, which you enter yourself. Plan breaks for you, and a clear end time.
What to agree with the company
- the date and the hours, including your arrival and setup time;
- the room: quiet, private enough, with a door, a power socket if needed, and space for the chair;
- the number of sessions and their length;
- how employees sign up, and who to call if someone doesn't show up;
- the price for the day or per session, invoiced your usual way.
Structure of the day
| Time | What | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 08:30–09:00 | Arrival and setup | Not bookable |
| 09:00–12:00 | Sessions of 20 min + 5 min between | 7 sessions |
| 12:00–13:00 | Break | Not bookable |
| 13:00–16:30 | Sessions of 20 min + 5 min between | 8 sessions |
| 16:30–17:00 | Packing up | Not bookable |
This is an example: adapt the length and the number of sessions to what you've agreed. The 5 minutes between two people let you clean the chair, air the room and welcome the next person without rushing. If the company wants more sessions, add an afternoon rather than shortening each one.
Employees booking their own time
On Book, create a service for the day, for example "Seated shiatsu — company day 12 March", with a description of what happens, where the room is and what to wear. Open one slot per session, each with one place, and send the link to your contact, who shares it internally. Each employee books a slot with their name, email and phone, and receives a confirmation email. You receive an email for each booking, so you can see the day fill.
Your booking page is public: anyone with the link can see the service. If the company prefers the day not to appear there, ask your contact for the list of names and times, and book each person yourself from your calendar. With one place per slot, a booked slot no longer appears on the page.
For people who've never tried shiatsu
At a company, some participants may be discovering shiatsu. Use the service description to answer their questions before they book: it's done seated and fully clothed, it lasts about 20 minutes, there's nothing to prepare, and they can tell you if they'd rather avoid an area. Clear expectations make people more comfortable signing up, and you spend the session on shiatsu rather than on explanations.
No-shows on the day
At work, meetings run over and people forget. Agree with your contact how to handle an empty slot: a colleague on a short list who can step in, or a message sent round at the start of the afternoon. Book doesn't send reminders; a message from the company the day before helps. If someone cancels in advance, cancel their booking from your list so the slot is offered again.
Repeat days
Some companies want a shiatsu day every month or every quarter. Monthly or quarterly repeats aren't automatic: create each day's slots when the date is agreed. If the company wants a weekly session, a slot created once can be repeated on the weekday you choose until an end date.
After the day
Some participants will want to continue with full sessions. Leave a card or a short note with your booking link, so they can book a studio or home session later. It's also worth a quick call with your contact after the day: what worked, how many people came, and whether they want another date. Your bookings list shows who booked, which helps when you plan the next one.
Keep your regular clients
Corporate days take whole days out of your week. Don't let them eat into the slots your regular clients count on: decide in advance how many company days you take per month, and keep your usual studio or home days open.
Book costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited bookings and services, no commission and no contract. It doesn't invoice; bill the company your usual way.
