Psychics: setting bookable reading lengths and formats
How psychics can set bookable reading lengths and formats: short question sessions, full readings, in person, by phone or by video, each its own service.
6 min read
Offer each length and format of reading as its own bookable service: a short question session, a full reading, and the same by phone or by video if you offer them. Clients then choose what they want before they book, you know from your bookings list how long each appointment lasts and how it takes place, and a twenty-minute question never turns into an hour on the spot. Add a short break after each reading, and use the service description to say plainly what each format covers.
Why separate services
When there is only one “reading” on your page, clients book it for anything from one quick question to a full life review, and you can't plan your day. Separate services set expectations: the client picks the length and the price, and you see at a glance what each booking needs. On Book, each service has a name, a price and an optional description shown on your public page, and each slot belongs to one service.
| Service | Example slot | Example price |
|---|---|---|
| Question session | 20 min | €30 |
| Full reading, in person | 1 h | €70 |
| Full reading, by phone | 45 min | €55 |
| Full reading, by video | 1 h | €70 |
| Follow-up reading | 30 min | €40 |
Durations and prices are examples: set your own. Keep the list short; four or five services are easier to choose from than ten.
What each format covers
Use the description of each service to say what the client can expect, in a sentence or two:
- Question session: one subject, a focused answer, no full spread or chart.
- Full reading: several areas of life, time for the client's questions.
- Phone or video: how you connect, and what the client needs: a quiet room, a charged phone, a link you send.
- Follow-up: for clients you have already seen, to revisit a situation.
Say also what you don't do, if it matters to you: readings for third parties without their knowledge, health questions, readings for minors. Clients who read this before booking arrive with the right expectations.
In person, phone and video in one week
If you see clients at a practice and also read remotely, give each format its own times. In-person readings on the days you're at the practice; phone and video readings in the evenings or on days at home. Open slots for each service on those days, one place per slot, and repeat them each week on the weekdays you choose until an end date. Don't open an in-person slot and a phone slot at the same time: Book doesn't stop slots of different services from overlapping, so plan the week so they don't.
Breaks between readings
Readings can be intense, for you as well as the client. Leave a gap of ten or fifteen minutes after each one instead of booking back to back: time to note what you need, air the room, or reset before the next call. Build the gap into your slots by spacing them, rather than counting on clients to leave on time.
What to ask in the booking note
The booking form takes first name, last name, email and phone, plus an optional note you read in your new booking email. Keep the note light: the subject they want to focus on in a few words, and for remote readings, the number to call or a reminder that you'll send a link. The note also appears in the calendar file the client receives, so don't ask for anything private there; keep personal details for the reading itself.
Moving and cancelling
Clients can't move bookings online: they contact you, and you reschedule or cancel from your bookings list, then tell them yourself, since Book doesn't email clients about changes. Say your cancellation rule in each service description, for example how much notice you need. Book costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited services and bookings, no commission, no contract. It doesn't take payments, so say how you are paid.
