Mobile tyre fitting: booking visits at home or at work
Tyre size, location, parking space and a van stocked for the day: how mobile tyre fitters can take bookings by area and arrive with the right tyres.
7 min read
Take mobile bookings by area and ask for the tyre size before the visit. Assign days to parts of your area, open slots with travel time between them, and ask customers to write the tyre size, the number plate and the exact location in the booking note. With that, you order or load the right tyres the day before, and you arrive once with everything, instead of a first visit to check and a second one to fit.
What makes mobile fitting different
In a workshop, the stock is on the shelf and the car comes to you. On the road, the van carries what you loaded that morning, and a wrong size means a second trip. The job also depends on the site: a flat, firm surface, room for the van next to the car, and permission to work there, whether it's a private driveway or a company car park.
Customers choose mobile fitting to avoid losing half a day at a garage. They'll gladly give you the details you need if you ask clearly before they book.
Setting up the services
On Book, each service has a name, a price and an optional description shown on your public page. Each slot belongs to one service, with its own start and end. Customers pick a service, then a free slot. With one place per slot, a booked slot is full and disappears from your page.
| Service | Example slot | Example price |
|---|---|---|
| Mobile fitting, 2 tyres (fitting only) | 45 min | €50 |
| Mobile fitting, 4 tyres (fitting only) | 1 h 15 | €90 |
| Mobile seasonal changeover on rims | 45 min | €55 |
| Fleet visit, several vehicles | Half day | €300 |
Lengths and prices are examples: set your own. Say in each description that tyre prices are quoted separately, whether you supply tyres or fit the customer's own, and what the call-out covers.
Area days and travel
Driving across your whole area for each booking eats the day. Assign days or half-days to parts of your area, say in each description which towns each day covers, and create slots only on those days. Leave travel time between slots rather than opening them back to back. Repeat them each week until a date. If someone books outside their area's day, call them and move the booking to a slot on the right day from your bookings list; Book doesn't email them about the change, so confirm it yourself.
What to ask in the note
- Tyre size: the numbers on the sidewall, such as 205/55 R16 91V, or a photo sent by message.
- Vehicle: make, model and number plate.
- Location: full address, and where exactly the car will be: driveway, street, company car park level.
- Site: flat ground, room for the van, permission to work there.
- Locking wheel nut: where the key is, so the job doesn't stop there.
The public booking form asks for first name, last name, email and phone, plus an optional note that you read in your new-booking email. The evening before, check the next day's bookings and load the van in visit order.
Business customers and fleets
A company with several vans, or a car park full of employees' cars, can be a half-day or full-day visit. The public form books one slot per booking, so for a fleet, the manager can call you and you book the visit from your calendar: first and last name are required, email and phone optional; with their email, they get a confirmation and a calendar file. Ask for the list of vehicles and sizes by email.
Weather and changes
Say in the description what happens in heavy rain or snow: you work under cover if available, or move the visit. Customers can't move bookings online; they contact you, and you reschedule or cancel from your list. Book doesn't take payments, so say how you're paid on site. Book costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited services and bookings, no commission, no contract.
