Birth chart readings: what to ask before the session
Date, time and place of birth: how astrologers can collect birth details through the booking note, prepare the chart in advance and set the session length.

Ask for the date, time and place of birth in the booking note, and say in the service description that the reading is prepared from them before the session. With those three details in your new-booking email, you can draw up the chart ahead of time and use the whole session for the reading itself. Leave preparation time in your week for each booked reading, and tell clients what happens if they don't know their exact birth time.
Why the birth details come first
A birth chart reading depends on precise information. The date gives the positions of the planets, the time and place give the ascendant and houses. Without them, you spend the first part of the session looking things up, or you start from a chart that's wrong. Asking before the session turns the reading into what the client came for.
What to put in the description
- What to write in the note: date of birth, time of birth as precise as possible, town and country of birth.
- If the time is unknown: what you'll do instead, such as a reading without houses, or a noon chart.
- What the reading covers: personality, current period, a specific question.
- How it takes place: in person, by phone or by video, and how long it lasts.
- Whether the session is recorded or summarised in writing afterwards.
The public booking form asks for first name, last name, email and phone, and has that optional note. The note also appears in the calendar file the client receives with the confirmation, so birth details will be in their calendar too. Say so if you think some clients would rather send them by email.

On Book, each service has a name, a price and an optional description shown on your public page, and each slot belongs to one service with its own start and end:

Lengths and prices are examples: set your own. For a relationship reading, ask for both people's birth details in the note, with the second person's agreement.
Preparation time
Preparing a chart takes time, and it isn't part of the session slot. Either keep a block in your week for preparation, or leave a gap between readings. Opening fewer slots per day, with preparation in between, keeps each reading focused. Create your slots on the weekdays you choose and repeat them each week until an end date.
After the reading
Clients who want to come back, for a year-ahead reading or a follow-up question, can book online; you can also book them yourself from your calendar with their name, and add their email so they get a confirmation and calendar file. Clients can't move bookings online: they contact you, and you move or cancel from your bookings list. Book doesn't email clients about changes, so confirm the new time yourself.
