How animal rehabilitation is organised
Animals usually come to a therapist after a vet's diagnosis or referral: recovery from surgery, an injury, arthritis, or a working or sport animal that needs to get back to form. The first appointment is an assessment of how the animal moves and what the owner can do at home. Then comes a programme of sessions, often weekly at first and spaced out as the animal improves, sometimes mixing hands-on work, exercises and hydrotherapy.
A programme only works if the sessions happen on time. When owners have to call to book each one, weeks slip. A booking page lets them book the next session themselves, and lets you set dates at the end of each visit.
Assessments, sessions and hydrotherapy
In Book, each type of session is a service with its own price and description, and you open slots for each at the length it takes: a longer slot for an initial assessment, shorter ones for hydrotherapy. Use the description to say what the owner should bring, such as the vet's referral or notes, and how the animal should be prepared, for example not fed just before a pool session.
