How pet sitters organise their days

A pet sitter's week is a set of rounds: morning and midday dog walks, drop-in visits to feed cats and change litter, evening check-ins when owners work late or travel. Most work starts with a meet-and-greet, so the owner can see how you get on with the animal and hand over keys and instructions. After that, many clients come back every week, on the same days.

Owners usually ask by text or social media, and each request means checking your rounds, replying and writing it down. A booking page shows them what's free so they can book without waiting for an answer.

Walks, visits and group walks

In Book, each type of visit is a service with its own price and description, and you open slots for each at the length it takes. For group walks, set how many places a slot has, for example four dogs, and each owner books one place. Solo walks and home visits take a slot with a single place.
