How personal property valuations get booked
Owners come to a personal property appraiser for different reasons. Some are curious about a single object found in a drawer. Others need a formal valuation to insure a collection, to sell, or to share out an estate between heirs. The first often turn up at a valuation day with a bag of items; the second need a proper appointment, sometimes a visit to a house where everything has to be listed room by room.
Valuation days bring queues when everyone arrives at opening time. Home inventories need the family and the keys there on the same day. A booking page spreads people over the day and gives each appointment the time it needs.
Valuation days, office appraisals and home visits
On Book, each type of appointment is a service with its own description, and a price if you want to show one. You open slots for each at the length it takes. For a valuation day, open short slots one after another across the day and say in the description how many items each visitor can bring. For office appraisals, ask owners to bring photos, receipts, certificates or any known history of the object. For home inventories, the owner adds the address and a word about the estate in the booking note.
