How tattoo artists handle bookings
Tattooing is booked around long sessions, not quick appointments. A small flash piece might take an hour, a sleeve is several sessions of three hours or more, and a big project can take whole days. Most of the booking happens in Instagram messages: a client sends an idea, you talk size, placement and budget, and at some point someone has to find a date.
That last part is where time goes. Scrolling your calendar, proposing three dates, waiting for a reply, then finding the date was taken in the meantime by another client. And while you're tattooing, you can't answer anyone.
Consultation first, sessions after
Many artists start with a short consultation to discuss the design. On Book, a consultation can be its own service with short slots, and sessions are separate services with longer slots: an hour for flash, three or four hours for a medium piece, a full day for large work. Clients pick the service, see its price and duration, then choose one of its free slots.
Every open slot is visible on your page. If you prefer to talk through custom projects first, open only consultations and flash online, and book the long sessions yourself from your calendar once the design is agreed.
Flash days and guest spots
For a flash day, open short flash slots on that date only. If you do guest spots in another studio or city, open slots only for those dates so clients there know exactly when you're around.
