How far apart should kinesiology sessions be?

Weekly, every few weeks, or when needed? How kinesiologists can space sessions, book the next one before the client leaves and keep follow-up slots open.

There is no fixed rule: the gap between kinesiology sessions depends on how you work and on what the client came for, and you decide it together at the end of each session. What matters for your diary is that the decision turns into a booking before the client leaves. Agree on the gap, pick the slot with them, and book it yourself from your calendar. Then keep enough follow-up slots open in the weeks ahead so the date you agreed on actually exists.

Decide the gap with the client, not by default

Kinesiologists describe their rhythm in different ways. Some leave a few weeks between sessions so the client has time to notice changes; others see someone again sooner around a specific event, such as an exam or a move. Some clients come for one or two sessions only, others come back from time to time over the year. None of this is a rule to copy: it is a conversation to have at the end of each session.

Ask simple questions: what do you want to look at next time, and when would that make sense? Is there a date coming up, such as an exam, a job interview or a new school year? Would you rather call me when you feel the need? The answer gives you the gap, and it gives the client a reason to come back rather than a vague "see you soon".

Book the next session before the client leaves

A client who leaves saying "I'll book online" may do it, or may let weeks pass. The simplest habit is to open your calendar at the end of the session and book the next one together. On Book, you can book a client into a slot yourself: first and last name are required, email and phone are optional, and you can add a note. If you enter their email, they receive the same confirmation email and calendar file as an online booking.

  1. Agree on the gap and on a preferred day and time.
  2. Open the week in your calendar and pick a free follow-up slot.
  3. Book it with the client's name and email, and a short note such as "3rd session, exam in June".
  4. The client gets a confirmation email with a calendar file for their own diary.

Keep follow-up slots open ahead

Rebooking only works if there is room. If new clients fill every slot of the next month online, the follow-up you agreed on has nowhere to go. Plan your week with both in mind:

Slot typeServiceExampleWho books it
First sessionFirst kinesiology sessionTuesday and Thursday morningsNew clients, online
Follow-upFollow-up sessionAfternoon slotsYou at the end of a session, or returning clients online
Short sessionShort follow-upOne or two a weekReturning clients with a specific question

The days above are an example, not a rule. Create the slots on the weekdays you choose and repeat them each week until an end date, a few months ahead. Mark the follow-up service "for clients already seen" in its description, so new clients book the first-session service instead.

When clients prefer to call you when they need to

Some clients don't want a fixed next date. That's fine: tell them they can book any follow-up slot on your page when they feel ready, with no account needed. Your page shows only the free slots, so they choose what suits them.

Moving and cancelling sessions

Clients can't move a booking online. When someone needs another date, they contact you, and you reschedule or cancel from your bookings list. Book doesn't email the client when you move or cancel a session, so tell them yourself, by message or phone, and confirm the new time.

A cancelled session frees its slot, and it shows again on your public page. If you know a client who wanted an earlier date, you can call them and book them into it directly.

Holidays and breaks

Before a holiday, look at who is due to come back during your absence and move their sessions before or after it with them. When you set your repeated slots, choose the end date so no slots are open while you're away, or remove those weeks from your calendar. Clients then see only dates when you actually work.

Book costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited services and bookings, no commission, no contract. Your calendar can sync with Google, iPhone or Mac, so the sessions you book at the end of a session also appear in the calendar you already use.

How often should a client come back for kinesiology?
It depends on your approach and on the client's goal. Agree on the gap together at the end of each session, rather than applying a fixed rhythm.
Can I book the next session for my client?
Yes. Book them into a slot from your calendar with their name; add their email if you want them to receive the confirmation and calendar file.
Can clients reschedule online?
No. They contact you and you move the booking from your bookings list. Tell them the new time yourself, since Book doesn't email them about changes.
How do I stop new clients from taking every slot?
Keep separate follow-up slots, described as for clients already seen, and limit how many first-session slots you open each week.
Does Book send reminders before follow-up sessions?
No. Clients receive a confirmation email with a calendar file when the booking is made.
