What a butcher's shop books
Most customers walk in, and that's how a butcher's shop works. The pressure comes on a few days a year. Before Christmas, New Year and Easter, customers order roasts, turkeys and capons in advance and all want to collect them on the same morning. The same happens on a smaller scale with meat boxes or barbecue packs on summer Fridays.
Workshops are the other part: teaching a group to break down a lamb, make sausages or cook over fire. They need a fixed number of places and a list of names, and they tend to be arranged over the counter, on scraps of paper.
Collection times and workshops
On Book, each type of appointment is a service with its own description, and a price if you want to show one. You open slots for each at the length it takes. For collections, open short slots across the days before a holiday, with a few places each, so customers spread out instead of arriving all at once. The order itself is taken as you do today; customers add their name or order number in the booking note so you can have it ready. For workshops, set the number of places: each online booking takes one, and a full workshop disappears from your page.
