How freelance sommeliers get booked
Many sommeliers work the floor of a restaurant, where the restaurant takes the tables. Those who work freelance, or on the side, sell their time in other ways. Private clients want help with a cellar: what to drink now, what to keep, what to buy. Restaurants and wine bars want a list built or reviewed, and staff trained. Hosts want a tasting at home or a pairing for a wedding or a company dinner.
Each of those starts with finding a date, often through a chain of messages. A booking page shows your free times and lets the client take one. The selection of wines, the quote for an event and the details are then agreed with them.
Consultations and private tastings
On Book, each type of appointment is a service with its own description, and a price if you want to show one. You open slots for each at the length it takes. Private tastings take one booking per slot: the host books and adds the number of guests, the address and the occasion in the note. For a restaurant, the owner books a wine list review and can mention the cuisine and the current list size. A short free call helps clients who aren't sure what they need.
