Online booking for dressmakers

A dressmaker's work comes in two kinds. Everyday alterations, like hems, zips and taking in, start with a short visit to pin the garment, then a collection a few days later. Bigger jobs, like wedding and evening dresses or made-to-measure pieces, need a consultation and then several fittings as the garment takes shape, often with a date that can't move.

Unannounced visits break your concentration at the machine. A booking page gives clients set times for drop-offs and fittings, and lets you protect your sewing time.

On Book, each type of appointment is a service with its own description, and a price if it's charged separately, and you open slots for each at the length it takes. Short drop-off slots handle alterations; longer ones cover fittings and consultations. Use the description to say what to bring, such as the shoes and underwear to be worn with a dress. Book the next fitting yourself from your calendar at the end of each one. Clients can add a note, such as their event date.

Clients book without an account, with their name, email and phone. They get a confirmation email, and you get an email for every new booking. Reschedule or cancel from your bookings list and let the client know, and sync your calendar with Google, iPhone or Mac. Book doesn't keep measurements, track garments or take payments or deposits. It costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited bookings and services, no commission, no contract.

Your page shows times in your business's time zone, with its name displayed, so there's no confusion for clients booking from elsewhere. To fill a regular week quickly, create a slot once and repeat it on the weekdays you choose until an end date.
