How pottery workshops fill up

A ceramicist's studio often runs on workshops: tasters for beginners, hand-building sessions, weekly classes for regulars, glazing sessions a few weeks later when pieces have been fired. Places are limited by the number of wheels and table space, and each workshop needs the right number of people to be worth running. Private lessons and couple's sessions fill the rest, along with your own making time.

Managing places by message is tiring and easy to get wrong. A booking page takes bookings until a workshop is full, then stops offering it, and you see who's coming.

Workshops with a set number of places

On Book, each workshop or lesson is a service with its own price and description, and you open slots for each at the length it takes. For a workshop, set how many places the slot has to match your wheels or table space; each person books one place. Private lessons use a slot with a single place. Use the description to say what's included (clay, firing, glazing), when pieces can be collected and what to wear.
