How private chefs take bookings
A private chef's calendar works on dates. A client asks about Saturday the 14th, you check, you reply, they ask about the menu, they come back two days later, and by then the date is gone. Then there are the regulars who book weekly meal prep, and the clients who want a lesson rather than a meal. Each needs a different length of time, and dinners need a full evening including shopping, cooking, service and clean-up.
A booking page shows clients your free evenings and lets them take one. The menu, the shopping list and the final price for their number of guests are then worked out with them, as you do today.
One dinner per evening
On Book, each type of appointment is a service with its own description, and a price if you want to show one. You open slots for each at the length it takes. For dinners, open one slot per evening with one place, so once a client books it, the evening disappears from your page. Use the description to say what's included, how far you travel and how the menu is agreed. Clients add the address, the number of guests and any allergies or dietary needs in the booking note. A short free call is a good first step for clients who want to talk menus before committing.
