How sculptors book their time

Sculptors often combine their own work with teaching and commissions. Workshops in clay modelling or stone carving bring small groups to the studio for a few hours, limited by workbenches and tools. Private lessons follow a slower pace for students working on a longer piece. Commissions, like portrait busts, memorial pieces or garden sculptures, start with a meeting and, for portraits, several sittings over weeks. Open studio days and visits let collectors see work in progress.
