How acupuncturists organise their appointments

An acupuncture practice runs on a simple pattern: a long first consultation to take a full history and give a first treatment, then shorter follow-ups, often weekly at first and more spaced out as things improve. Some practitioners treat two patients in parallel, one resting with needles while they see the other, which makes interruptions even more costly.

Patients often come after trying other options, or on the recommendation of someone they know. They look up the practitioner in the evening and want to see what a first appointment involves and costs. A booking page gives them that answer without a call.

First consultation and courses of treatment

On Book, each appointment type is a service with its own price and description, and you open slots for each at the length it takes: a longer first consultation, standard and short follow-ups, and specific sessions such as cupping, moxibustion or fertility support if you offer them.
