Appointment-based services at the pharmacy

Pharmacies do much more than dispense. Depending on the country, pharmacists vaccinate, run medication reviews for patients on several treatments, carry out screening tests, measure blood pressure, give travel health advice and hold private consultations. Unlike dispensing, those services need a pharmacist and the consultation room for a set time.

When everyone turns up at once — the first cold days of the flu season, the week before summer holidays — walk-in services clash with the prescription queue. Giving customers bookable time slots spreads the demand and gives each person a calmer appointment.

One service per activity

On Book, each service is listed with its description and price, and you open slots for each at the length it takes: 10 minutes for a vaccination, 30 for a medication review. For vaccination campaigns, open a run of short slots on the days you have a pharmacist available for it. Where fees are set by your health system, explain them in the description instead of an amount, and say what to bring (prescription, vaccination record, list of medicines).
