What a radiotherapy centre can open for booking

Treatment sessions follow a plan decided by the medical team, and they stay in the centre's own scheduling. A public booking page is for the appointments where the patient or their family can pick the time: an information visit before the first session, a tour of the treatment room to see the machine and meet the team, a group information session for relatives, a short advice appointment on skin care during treatment. Which of these exist and who leads them is the centre's decision.

Each becomes a service on the centre's page, with a description that says what happens, how long it lasts and who the patient will meet.

Group sessions for relatives

Information sessions work well in small groups. Set the number of places on the slot: every person books one place, and when the session is full it no longer appears. If a relative calls the centre instead, book their place from the calendar. A weekly session is quick to plan: create the slot once and repeat it on the weekdays you choose until an end date.

The booking form asks for first name, last name, email and phone, plus an optional note. Ask patients to keep medical details out of the note: those belong with the care team.

Setting up the centre's page

  1. Decide with the care team which information appointments go on the page.
  2. Create one service per appointment type with a clear description. Book has one page per centre, not a calendar per person.
  3. Open slots at times the team can be available, outside treatment sessions.
