How interpreting assignments are booked
Interpreters are booked for a specific moment: a medical appointment, a meeting with a lawyer or notary, a business negotiation, a training day, a site visit or a conference. Assignments often have a minimum duration, and a longer one needs preparation, such as glossaries, documents or a short briefing with the client. Some work happens in person, some remotely by phone or video. Clients also want to know the language pair and whether you can travel.
A booking page lets clients see the slots you have free and book them directly, with the context of the assignment in a note, so you can prepare.
Hours, half days and full days
On Book, each format is a service with its own price and description, and you open slots for each at the length it takes: one hour, a half day or a full day within a single day. Use the description to list your language pairs, your travel area and what the client should send beforehand. Clients can add a note with the place, the type of meeting and the languages needed. Book a preparation call yourself for longer assignments.
