Online booking for orthoptists

Orthoptists assess and treat problems with eye movements and binocular vision: squints, convergence difficulties, eye strain, reading problems linked to vision, and, for some, low vision rehabilitation. Work usually starts with an assessment, often followed by a series of short exercise sessions, then follow-up checks. Many patients are children, whose sessions have to fit after school or on days without school, while adults prefer lunchtime or evening slots.

With series of sessions for many patients at once, the diary fills fast and freed slots matter. Handling all of that by phone takes time away from patients.

On Book, each appointment type is a service with its own description, and you open slots for each at the length it takes: 45 minutes for an assessment, 30 for exercise sessions, an hour for low vision work. Where fees are set by your health system, say so in the description instead of showing an amount. Parents book assessments online; for a series, you can book the sessions yourself from your calendar with the family, and those slots are no longer offered online.

Patients book without an account and receive a confirmation email; you receive an email for each new booking. Reschedule or cancel from your bookings list; a cancelled slot is offered online again. Book doesn't keep patient records, handle billing or claims. It costs €5/month, everything included: unlimited bookings, no commission, no contract.

Your page shows times in your business's time zone, with its name displayed, so there's no confusion for clients booking from elsewhere. To fill a regular week quickly, create a slot once and repeat it on the weekdays you choose until an end date.
